Spirit Recovery Outreach is a nonprofit organization that is directed towards building up our youth and giving them options of a more positive life style. Our mission is dedicated to instilling confidence, while diminishing the low self-esteem and fear in our youth, to touch hearts, and change a generation by the strength and power instilled in us through the Holy Spirit. Building up our youth is not just a job for one person, but with the help of our communities we can truly make a difference in our young people today. We hope to help them bypass fear, low self-esteem and any other hindrances caused by negativity. We will be teaming up and partnering with other organizations to help ensure that we are doing our best to create a better tomorrow.

Spirit Recovery Outreach recognizes issues within one's self can be birthed by low self-esteem, confusion, lies, stereotypes, lack of love, abuse, lack of security and much more. There is so much that goes on behind the closed doors of our youth that no one ever knows or hears about. When kids go to school and always end up in a fight or they seem to be doing drugs and drinking alcohol who really is concerned with "WHY". Why are they lashing out? Why aren't they academically succeeding? Why are they repeating the same mistakes? Spirit Recovery believes that all it takes is one concerned person to change a life.

There are so many of our youth suffering from a broken spirit, which snowball into bigger issues in their lives and ends up effecting the society we live in today. Spirit Recovery Outreach promises to be dedicated to finding many effective solutions to help our youth thrive and succeed in their goals. We have put together three programs to help reach out to our youth, The Youth Exposure Program, Campus Outreach Program and Orphanage Outreach Program. The Youth Exposure Program will be our focus project, dedicated to introducing this generation to new culture, aspirations and opportunities, which may not have been otherwise attainable. If we can open up doors we give our youth an even greater chance to walk through them. Through our Christian values, we hope to touch hearts and change lives. We look forward to you joining us in being blessing to our community, and looking even further to a brighter tomorrow.

One in seven young people between the ages of 10 and 18 will run away. Youth ages 12 to 17 are more at risk of homelessness than adults. Forty-six percent of runaway and homeless youth reported being physically abused. Thirty-eight percent reported being emotionally abused, and seventeen percent reported being forced into unwanted sexual activity by a family or household member. It is estimated that 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students. Fifty-four percent of students said witnessing physical abuse at home can lead to violence in schools.

The founder, Nwugochi Nwogu is passionate about reminding this generation that they come from opportunity. No matter how bad a situation may look, no matter how hard things may seem God always makes a way. It's time to stop letting the music videos and reality TV shows raise our generation. All it takes is one person, one person to care enough, one person to listen, one person to make a difference. Be that one person.
