According to USDA Household Food Security (2012), 1 in every 6 Americans is food insecure and the number has remained at or near 50 million Americans for the past 4 years. In Georgia, 20 percent of population is food insecure, meaning they don’t always know where they will find their next meal.

Elevating Our Community Inc. (EOC) is a fiscally sponsored 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the less fortunate with healthy, nutritious meals. Society often ignores the plight of our forgotten citizens, and after no longer being able and willing to ignore the social problem that exists all over the world the founder decided to address it head-on and become part of the solution. The organizations’ mission is to do everything in its power to alleviate hunger, and is committed to devoting its time and energy to “feeding the hungry” one meal at a time.

EOC is operated by family, friends and volunteers who are recognizably ordinary people willing to do extraordinary things with the help of God, and confident that He will continue to bless and provide the resources necessary to feed as many hungry individuals as possible.

Not only does EOC feed the hungry twice a month, the organization also has a community cleanup program that conducts cleanups every other month. Through these cleanups the organization revitalizes distressed communities, in an effort to improve living conditions, make people feel safer and better about being members of their communities.

EOC strategic plan includes developing a mentoring program to foster its commitment to youths, their families, and the community that will elevate young people to a sustainable platform, which enables them to rise up in the midst of adversity and assert a sense of hope in the future. The program will offer youths a positive support system to help them avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives.

EOC’s goal is to become a highly accessible and successful community based organization, and consistently provide services to less fortunate members in our community. EOC conducts business with integrity and treats its community members and affiliates ethically. We take pride in being an honest and responsible organization with strong values that strives to make a difference in the lives of others, and make positive contributions to societal good.
